@Sir_Boops One of the things I think to be discussed is setting up the Board, and what sort of organizational model to use (and 'co-op' has been thrown about a lot - I work for credit unions, so I have a decent idea of how co-ops work, to boot :) ).

Also, the people doing the initial push are trying to set up something specifically whereby they themselves will not hold any sort of power for at least the first year, i.e. to make it truly a community thing rather than them being in charge.

@Sir_Boops A whole lot of discussion online I've seen revolves mostly around getting this organizational aspect sorted first. Code isn't the problem. So yeah, I'm hoping to try and help out as it happens in what limited capacities I can.

Basically - start over and define what we want social media to be, define something for all the undefined vagueries of e.g. the AP spec, and make sure we get consensus on what to do in those situations and why, with input from anyone, coder or not.

@Sir_Boops I think ideally we want to end up in a place where we're some kind of non-profit / co-op type organization whose job is simply to be a forum for that sort of work, and publish some kind of 'fediverse spec' as a reference for people who want to code + implement without also having to worry about those sorts of decisions.

Maybe that culminates in a 'reference architecture' based on Masto or another fediverse system, maybe not. That's all to be discussed, I think.
